Course Overview
Taught by Doug Nelson, via LIVE elearning, this course consists of three, 3-hour days, additional self-paced video lessons, plus an *optional hands-on lab day.
This course is designed to give a strong foundation for those new or recent to the stone restoration industry, or for the more seasoned contractors to learn ways to improve efficiency and productivity.
Students who take this course can get prepared for jobs in the real world. You’ll learn about each of the following topics and processes:
Course Content
- Masking and protecting surrounding areas
- Determining stone damage
- Grinding and honing
- Feathering
- Basic Repairs
- Lippage removal
- Tile removal and replacement
- Hand grinding
- Working with marble, terrazzo, limestone, travertine, and terrazzo
- Polishing floors to a beautiful gloss finish
- Bringing floors to a honed finish
- Stain management
- Sealing and protecting
*Optional hands-on lab day ($400 per student) is for those that would like to put into practice what they learned via the eLearning course with an instructor and equipment, supplies and floor space.
